It’s been that way for so long -- over a hundred years -- that we take it for granted. But how did it happen? There are many answers, of course. One is that the United States values the free market over government control of the economy. But here’s a point that is seldom made: It didn’t begin that way Before the country placed its trust in the free market, it trusted the government to make important business decisions. Or to put it another way, only after the government failed repeatedly to promote economic growth and only after private enterprise succeeded where the government failed did the United States start to develop a world beating economy. Let’s look at three telling examples: In 1808 John Jacob Astor formed the American Fur Company and marketed American furs around the world. Europeans adored beaver hats for their peerless warmth and durability. Astor gave them what they wanted. Instead of leaving the fur business to capable entrepreneurs like Astor, the government decided it wanted to be in on the action. So, it subsidized its own fur company run by a self-promoting government official named Thomas McKenney. McKenney should have won the competition. After all, he had the federal government backing him. But while Astor employed hundreds of people and still made a tidy profit, McKenney’s company lost money every year. Finally, Congress in 1822, came to its senses and ended the subsidies for McKenney and his associates. A similar situation developed in the 1840’s around the telegraph. The telegraph was the first step toward the instant communication we have today. Invented by Samuel Morse, the telegraph transmitted sound – as dots and dashes representing letters of the alphabet. Morse built his first telegraph wire between Washington, D.C. and Baltimore with the help of a government grant. Morse, more of an idealist than businessman, agreed to let the government own and operate the telegraph “in the national interest.” But the government steadily lost money each month it operated the telegraph. During 1845, expenditures for the telegraph exceeded revenue by six-to-one and sometimes by ten-to-one. Seeing no value in the invention, Congress turned the money-loser over to private enterprise. In the hands of entrepreneurs, the business took off. Telegraph promoters showed the press how it could instantly report stories occurring hundreds of miles away. Bankers, stock brokers and insurance companies saw how they could instantly monitor investments near and far. And dozens of other valuable uses were soon discovered. As the quality of service improved, telegraph lines were strung across the country – from 40 miles of wire in 1846 to 23,000 miles in 1852. By the 1860s, the U.S. had a transcontinental telegraph wire. And by the end of that decade entrepreneurs had strung a telegraph cable across the Atlantic Ocean. Why didn’t the US government profitably use what Morse had invented? Part of the answer is that the incentives for bureaucrats differ sharply from those of entrepreneurs. When government operated the telegraph, Washington bureaucrats received no profits from the messages they sent, and the cash they lost was the taxpayers’, not their own. So government officials had no incentive to improve service, to find new customers, or to expand to more cities. For the complete script, visit https://www.prageru.com/videos/why-america-so-rich

----------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------- Billionaire Rich Lifestyle - Lifestyles Around The World 2015 Wealthy wannabes and 24-carat gold millionaires mingled at the Billionaire Club's Monaco Grand Prix after party, Sunday. Mercedes race winner Nico Rosberg will have found his name top of the guest list for the post-race poolside soiree at the Fairmont Hotel, which overlooks the circuit's famous hairpin. The club, presided over by former Benetton and Renault team boss Flavio Briatore, is designed to serve up a neat cocktail of all that the Monte Carlo race weekend has come to represent -- racing, glamor, hedonism and wealth. "This is a dream for lots of people for one night," Briatore told CNN. "The moment you're in, you are a VIP for us. "It makes no difference if you're the top actor in America or wherever, for us everybody is the same." Briatore's Billionaire Life brand is selling a luxury lifestyle and the historic race around the principality -- a playground for the rich and famous -- is the perfect backdrop for some of the world's estimated 1,645 billionaires to blow off steam. "Billionaires and the ultra-wealthy cross the globe like migratory birds and Monaco is one of the key events," David Friedman, president of wealth intelligence firm Wealth-X, explained to CNN. "There is a cultural template in racing. If you contrast Formula One with Nascar for example, where the origins really came from running moonshine across State lines during the Prohibition, the DNA of F1 is so different." Briatore agreed: "Everybody wants to be at this race from the sponsors to the celebrities. The Billionaire Club is the center of this event, this party and all this celebrity. "All the drivers are there Sunday night," he promised. After attending Sunday's royal grand prix gala dinner, hosted by Monaco's Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, Rosberg, who was raised in Monaco, might have opted to head home to his Monte Carlo pad for an early night. For others the midnight to dawn party at the Billionaire Grand Prix Gala kept on swinging. Read: Nico Rosberg wins Monaco Grand Prix The evening promised world-famous DJs, special performances and inestimable bottles of champagne to quench the thirst of revelers. The Billionaire Club, which stages a four-day fiesta in Monaco, aims to emulate a billionaire lifestyle, but that does not mean you have to have billions in the bank to get in. "If he's a billionaire but he's a billionaire that spends no money -- we are not interested!" Briatore quipped. "The name was a kind of provocative name so everyone can remember. You don't need to be a billionaire. "It is not a rip-off, it's the same price as everything else in Monaco, nothing dramatic." The club may not be for billionaires per se but it does have a minimum spending policy. The price starts from $4,000 for a standard table. The majority of tables at the Monaco event are reserved for Billionaire Club members and returning guests with 10% held back for what Briatore describes as "last-minute friends." billionaire lifestyle, billionaire people, billionaire list 2014, list of billionaires in the world, 2014 billionaires list, millionaire lifestyle, billionaires lifestyle, billionaire lifestyle youtube, rich lifestyle, lifestyles of the rich and famous, lifestyle of the rich and famous, rich people lifestyle, lifestyles of the rich and famous lyrics, lifestyle of the rich, billionaire list, young billionaires,

These families come from a wide variety of disciplines and industries. Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg Description: When it comes to the American dream, the idea that working hard will eventually make you rich is the foundation of American society. Unfortunately, not all of us can be so lucky, and instead have to keep working with little to no promise of retirement. These days, unless you have a brilliant idea, or you were born or married into money, becoming wealthy is a dream for the stars. The families in this list are the ten wealthiest families in America, and their fame all started with an idea that grew to epic proportions. Many of the original founders are no longer alive, so it is up to their heirs and descendants to ensure the survival of their companies and wealth. For example, we have the Lauder brothers, who inherited their family fortune from their mother, Estee Lauder, who started the makeup and beauty company. The family is worth about $9.6 billion. Then we have the Hearst family, who own the Hearst Company. They own stations like A&E and ESPN. Their net worth? $9.8 billion. If you’ve ever watched a Johnson & Johnson commercial and heard the closing tagline, “SC Johnson: A Family Company”, then you should know that they are true to their word. The family is still actively involved with the company and are worth about $11.5 billion. Then there is the Newhouse family, who own about half of the magazines that are in publication today. This gives the family a nice little consistent income, making them worth about $12.5 billion. If you want to find a consistent income, then your best bet is to go into the food industry like the Cargill family. Americans like their food, and the Cargill family has their hands over millions of dollars’ worth of agricultural equipment and factories that package some of our favorite foods. In total, the family is worth about $14.3 billion. Then we have the Pritzker family, who own the Hyatt hotel company. Considering that there are thousands of Hyatt hotels all over the world, the family is worth $19.6 billion. The Cox family is worth $24 billion, thanks to their company Cox Communications. Being the leader in the communications and media industry, Cox is highly sought after for their services and make a pretty penny each year. If you like chocolate, as most people do, you’ve probably help write the paychecks for the Mars family, who have created their empire on candy. M&M’s, and Mars bars are some of their hottest items, just to name a few. The Mars family is worth about $41.4 billion. The Koch brothers are well known from a political aspect, but they are also extraordinarily wealthy from their manufacturing of oil and cleaning products. The Koch family is worth $54 billion. Finally, we have the controversial Walton family, who started and run the Walmart empire. With their low prices and the ability to do all of your shopping in one place, the Walton family is worth $93 billion. Controversy aside, you have to give credit to Sam Walton, who started the superstore. The American upper class describes the sociological concept pertaining to the "top layer" of society in the United States. About the book: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0078026717/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0078026717&linkCode=as2&tag=tra0c7-20&linkId=2eb8359867676703c845d545981030e7 This social class is most commonly described as consisting of those with great wealth and power and may also be referred to as the Capitalist Class or simply as The Rich. Persons of this class commonly have immense influence in the nation's political and economic institutions as well as public opinion. Many politicians, heirs to fortunes, top business executives, CEOs, successful venture capitalists and celebrities are considered members of this class. Some prominent and high-rung professionals may also be included if they attain great influence and wealth. The main distinguishing feature of this class, which is estimated to constitute roughly 1% of the population, is the source of income. While the vast majority of persons and households derive their income from salaries, those in the upper class derive their income from investments and capital gains. Estimates for the size of this group commonly vary from 1% to 2%, while some surveys have indicated that as many as 6% of Americans identify as "upper class." Sociologist Leonard Beeghley sees wealth as the only significant distinguishing feature of this class and, therefore, refers to this group simply as "the rich." " "The members of the tiny capitalist class at the top of the hierarchy have an influence on economy and society far beyond their numbers. They make investment decisions that open or close employment opportunities for millions of others. They contribute money to political parties, and they often own media enterprises that allow them influence over the thinking of other classes... The capitalist class strives to perpetuate itself: Assets, lifestyles, values and social networks... are all passed from one generation to the next." -Dennis Gilbert, The American Class Structure, 1998 " Sociologists such as W. Lloyd Warner, William Thompson and Joseph Hickey recognize prestige differences between members of the upper class. Established families, prominent professionals and politicians may be deemed to have more prestige than some entertainment celebrities who in turn may have more prestige than the members of local elites. Yet, contemporary sociologists argue that all members of the upper class share such great wealth, influence and assets as their main source of income as to be recognized as members of the same social class. As great financial fortune is the main distinguishing feature of this class, sociologist Leonard Beeghley at the University of Florida identifies all "rich" households, those with incomes in the top 1% or so, as upper class. Functional theorists in sociology and economics assert that the existence of social classes is necessary in order to distribute persons so that only the most qualified are able to acquire positions of power, and so that all persons fulfill their occupational duties to the greatest extent of their ability. Notably, this view does not address wealth, which plays an important role in allocating status and power. In order to make sure that important and complex tasks are handled by qualified and motivated personnel, society offers incentives such as income and prestige. The more scarce qualified applicants are and the more essential the given task is, the larger the incentive will be. Income and prestige which are often used to tell a person's social class, are merely the incentives given to that person for meeting all qualifications to complete an important task that is of high standing in society due to its functional value. "It should be stressed... that a position does not bring power and prestige because it draws a high income. Rather, it draws a high income because it is functionally important and the available personnel is for one reason or another scarce. It is therefore superficial and erroneous to regard high income as the cause of a man's power and prestige, just as it is erroneous to think that a man's fever is the cause of his disease... The economic source of power and prestige is not income primarily, but the ownership of capital goods (including patents, good will, and professional reputation). Such ownership should be distinguished from the possession of consumers' goods, which is an index rather than a cause of social standing." -Kingsley Davis and Wilbert E. Moore, Principles of Stratification. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_upper_class

Famous, exclusive and expensive, things only the 1% can afford ! Check out the 11 Strangest Things Rich People Spend Money On ! Subscribe to American Eye http://goo.gl/GBphkv 11. Paris Hilton Dog House 10. A Pricey Pigeon We see pigeons on the street and don’t really consider them to be worth much if anything. They seem to annoy people and poop on our cars. A business man from China on the other hand might think quite differently. He goes by the name of Hu Zhen Yu and he paid jaw dropping 328,000 dollars for some type of fancy racing pigeon from Belgium. The website called Pigeon Paradise offers specific breeds we’re assuming you won’t find scurrying for food. We couldn’t find an actual photo of Mr. Hu’s pricey pigeon, but it’s gotta be good. 9. Mayweather Gambling Habits 8. White’s Gentlemen's Club Membership The London aristocratic, posh society deserves a special place on our list. Would you be willing to fork over 85,000 pounds a year to be a member of this club? That might not seem to high for some wealthy fellows and sorry ladies. Only guys allowed. Not only is the membership fairly high but you got to be pretty famous too. There might only be a few exceptions for the queen. A can of coke costs 20 dollars and only the finest game meat from all of England is served. Prince Charles is allegedly a member and had a bachelor’s party here. Much of what goes on here is fairly mysterious but many humiliating or dark high stake wagers are rumored to occur. The secrecy around the club has made it difficult to know for sure, but we know it’s expensive to find out! 7. Dan Bilzerian Armory 6. Markhor Hunting Expeditions A lot of people enjoy hunting the primal feelings that come with it. We’re sure these rich people can afford to put food on their plates, so that’s obviously not the reason. Catching a that rare trophy animal is going to come at a hefty price. The countries of Tajikistan and Pakistan are trying to appeal to hunters by allowing them to hunt the rare markor sheep which is known for their massive horns. For years, people were hunting it illegally and money from the people paying to hunt them are supposedly used to conserve the environment. Hunting permits for this sought after trophy animal start at 61,500 dollars to be able to hunt 4 Markor, which makes it a pretty expensive hobby. The doesn’t factor in transportation to these remote locations or getting travel visas to these countries. But if you want those horns on your mantle, be ready to pay the price! 5. Doomsday Bunkers 4. Travers Beynon If there’s one guy out there who competes with Dan Blizarian for the most hated guy on instagram it would have to be Travers Beynon. This mega rich business man works for Big tobacco companies and he reportedly spends up to 2 million for bikini models to hang out with him in order for him to promote himself. This photo here shows Travers Beynon with two women on a leash, and you start to wonder if these women have any idea of self respect. He seems to know this type of imagery shocks people and the scantily clad women we see in this photo makes you wonder if they have some insecurity problems. Do you see the 3 standing next to him on the balcony? It makes you think they actually got paid more to be more closely associated to this guy in some way. He pays wild amounts for poolside parties, exotic vacations and for company, all in order to make himself look cool on instagram. We should also mention that his does have a wife and kid 3. Unusual Pets 2. Geoglyphic Signatures Are you extremely rich and would appreciate people being able to see your name from satellite? It’s not a huge trend just yet but we’ve seen a few examples of this so far. A name from the Middle East, Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, funded a project where he carved his name into the land and his signature measures about a kilometre long. It’s believed that this man owns over 200 cars including several Mercedes 500 SELs. This is almost like graffiti on an epic scale. The signature is carved near a body of water on Al Futaisi Island, in the Persian Gulf where they’re attempting to fill up his name almost like a giant swimming pool. It doesn’t appear to still be visible but we imagine this kind of thing takes a little maitenence. There’s also another one in Texas with the owner of the land Carving his name out of trees. 1.Golden Cars

English/Nat Across the United States, American Indian tribes are moving from a state of poverty to a state of comfort. With new revenues from casinos and other business ventures, Indian communities are experiencing economic and cultural revitalisation. But the Prairie Island Indian Community in the state of Minnesota fears all of its efforts may one day be wiped out because of a nuclear power plant less than 600 yards (metres) from their homes. For centuries, these prairies were the home of the Mdewakanton (Mid-WA'-kan-ton) Sioux. This land that borders the Mississippi and Vermilion Rivers is considered a spiritual place by the Mdewakantons...a land that has become known as Prairie Island. But now, the tribe says, in this place they call home, their health and lives are at risk. After a treaty with the U-S government in 1851, the Mdewakantons were forced to give up their land. But over the years they have regained a small piece of it and today 534 acres are recognised by the government as the Prairie Island Indian Community. Most of this century, the tribe was poverty stricken, without jobs, paved roads or indoor plumbing. But in 1968 that was all supposed to change. The State of Minnesota authorised the building of a nuclear power plant less than a half-mile (one kilometre) from reservation homes. SOUNDBITE: (English) "They thought it was going to be something that would help the tribe and provide jobs. It didn't pan out that way." SUPER CAPTION: Darryl Campbell, Tribal Secretary Now the Prairie Island Community says it got more from the nuclear power plant than it ever bargained for. The Mdewakantons say they've been plagued by disease and death. SOUNDBITE: (English) "I grew up in that home, there were cancer deaths in my family. There was a cancer death in this home, there was cancer detected in that home there, and a cancer death in that far home." SUPER CAPTION: Audrey Kohnen, Tribal President Audrey Kohnen is the President of the Prairie Island Community. She says since the construction of the nuclear power plant, her tribal members have suffered from unexplained health problems, including an extraordinary high number of cancer deaths. SOUNDBITE: (English) "It's just fearful. You're scared, you're anticipating, is something going to happen? You hope and pray that it doesn't." SUPER CAPTION: Audrey Kohnen, Tribal President A 1994 University of Pittsburgh study found that nuclear plants discharge small amounts of Strontium 90. The study found higher incidents of breast cancer deaths in counties near the plants, and documented a 43 per cent increase in breast cancer deaths at Prairie Island between 1980 and 1989. But the study could not prove that the plant was responsible. State and utility officials have long expressed doubt about the data, showing a higher incidence of breast cancer. SOUNDBITE: (English) "We have plenty of evidence...there is no evidence that shows this facility is having any effect on the outside community." SUPER CAPTION: Jon Kapitz, Project Manager, Northern States Power Company And they say the government has evidence to back up that claim. SOUNDBITE: (English) "A study has been done by the National Cancer Institutes, the National Institutes of Health, the Minnesota health department has done a study, and all of them have shown there is absolutely no effect on the communities." SUPER CAPTION: Jon Kapitz, Project Manager, Northern States Power Company Despite their struggle over the power plant, the Prairie Island community got a major economic boost in the mid-eighties when it opened the Treasure Island Casino. There's now a waiting list for tribal members who want to return to their homeland. So we want to the National Mall to find out if tourists know how bad it’s really gotten. It’s time to play...HOW BAD IS IT? TEXT: How much of the economic gains seen since the recession went to the top 1%? Man: like 60-70%? Woman: mmm definitely around I would say like 40, 45 50? I would guess pretty high Woman: I don't know an exact percentage but I know it's pretty high Volsky: It's 95% Woman: Wow okay. I thought I was being generous with that. I wouldn't be surprised, I wouldn’t be surprised. Man: Wow, definitely, yeah. That's surprising. TEXT: How much more does an average CEO earn than an average worker? Woman: Hmm...I would say at least 10 times more. Probably more than that. Woman: Probably 30 times more? Volsky: It's 373 times more Woman: Wow Woman: Thats unfortunate. Woman: That is crazy, actually. Man: Shocking, for sure. Woman: That’s really shocking. That really is shocking. Volsky: Do you know what it was in 1980? Woman: No. Volsky: It was 42 times more. Woman: Wow. Now there's something wrong with that picture. Woman: That’s a little too ridiculous. Man: Obviously the CEOs are getting smarter then. Man: I don't think it’s going to change. Never. Unless there are no people on this planet, I don’t think they’re ever going to change. It’s always going to be like that.

The USA is the richest, most powerful and most influential nation in the world. Even in the USA vs. Rest of the World scenario, it is most unlikely to lose a war. Its economy is bigger than the economies of the next four largest nations combined. Its military budget is more than that of the next 20 nations combined. It is also no match whether one considers technology or soft power. Its values of human rights and democracy are sought by people throughout the world. So, how it is that USA has been able to become the nation to be feared, which no other nation in the history of mankind has been capable of?
